What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a non-invasive holistic treatment, which was first introduced thousands of years ago by the Egyptians, Chinese and Japanese. Then later in 1913, it was again researched by an ENT specialist Dr William Fitzgerald who introduced zone therapy to the West who believed that reflex points on the feet and hands were linked to different organs and areas around the body. In the 1930’s, Eunice Ingham further developed this zone therapy into what is known as Reflexology.
It works on the principle that there are reflexes on our feet that correspond to different parts of the body. By applying gentle pressure to these reflex points, you are able to stimulate the different organs and body systems, which enable and encourage the body’s own healing process.
“The idea is that when illness occurs in a body the corresponding reflex channel will get blocked preventing the natural flow of energy. When reflexology is applied to the reflex and its corresponding parts, it will help stimulate the blockage allowing the energy to flow freely therefore restoring the body’s natural balance and good health.”
“The most powerful relationship you will ever have is the relationship with yourself.”
